The toxic relationship between the main characters is difficult to endure. Considering this is an earlier work by Kate, I'm willing to overlook some shortcomings in her writing style. While the plot has potential, it feels rushed and underdeveloped. A deeper exploration of the characters' relationship would have made the emotional impact more profound.
