This book deserves more than 5 stars! I did NOT want it to end! Let me start by saying that I am a die hard lover of MC books, but I have to admit it’s been a long time since I’ve been as captivated as I was by Specter’s Wake. This is not your normal biker romance so do not expect the typical alpha meets meek damsel in distress. For one, Faith is a badass chick who holds her own in her very male dominated world. She’s suffered tremendous loss and is finding her feet when it comes to dealing with it. Spectre is finally coming home to figure out who tried to kill him years before, but in coming home he also has to confront the ghosts of his past. There is murder, there is mystery, there is drama & sexual and romantic tension. There is betrayal and whodunnits and backstabbing. It’s everything a great dramatic action movie is made of! But beware...The story is not for the faint of heart because there are definitely triggers and explicit scenes of sex and abuse. However, let me reiterate that they are a product of the story but they are NOT what this story is about. Specter’s Wake Is the author’s first MC book, but you would never know it from the way she writes with such deep, dark detail. The scenes are written so colorfully and explicitly that I felt like I was physically involved in the story! I felt like I was a part of every twist and turn. And you cannot help but fall in love with even the baddest of bad guys because the author gives each character such great personality. I am so thankful to have become an early fangirl of this author and I’m anxious to see what comes next for this band of brothers. Do not sleep on this book! If you like dark...if you like gritty MC...you NEED this book in your library!
