Did not finish book. Stopped at 10%.
This is not for me. I was a bit hesitant going in because this genre (NA paranormal romance) doesn't often give me books I enjoy. I was ready to suspend my disbelief and annoyance, but life is just too short and my reading life is too short at the moment for me to push through.
The blurb irritated me on the back at the get go because there appears to be a love square which I'm not really down for. Granted I've only read love triangles, not squares, but I'd rather read about two people who have problems to work through together instead of turning to other people.
Upon opening the book I didn't mind Aden's POV for the first pages, but once we were introduced to Mary Ann and Penny, I decided it wasn't worth reading. Mary Ann and Penny have a dumb relationship that is based on being friends forever and nothing more. Penny is the typical outspoken, loud best friend to the quieter MC Mary Ann (equally MC with Aden).
Aden has way too deep feelings for Mary Ann then he should/would for someone he has just met and Mary Ann the same. But also they both want to run away from each other but Mary Ann also wants to hug him?? Aden asks for her number, but she declines and then leaves and her thoughts wonder if she's just made the BIGGEST mistake in her life. God, so dramatic. I was willing to push through after this point, but then Penny gives Mary Ann's number to this STRANGER after her best friend just said NO when he asked. WTF? And then also gives her number incase Aden decides he wants someone more "available". Ugh - NO. This is when I decided life is too short and I don't need to be reading something I wasn't looking forward to and also not enjoying.
