"With her in my arms, I’m happy and hopeful. Like I’m no longer stuck in reverse because I found the brightest star to guide me out of the dark. Elle Sinclair."

I just finished reading this book and boy, it was longggg (not that I'm complaining). I was unsure what to expect when I started reading this but the banter between Rafael & Ellie in the beginning quickly won me over. Both of them had some scars of the past and it was nice to see them overcoming their insecurities together. I loved the way Rafael's character development took place. He was wary and closed of initially and I couldn't blame him for it but the way he pushed Ellie away and hurt her feelings by saying stupid things numerously was kind of getting annoying. Like Ellie, I was growing tired of his apologies too but I'm glad that he finally understood where his and Nico's happiness lied. There were a few times when I felt like the story is being dragged but I surprisingly ended up enjoying the last half very much! I felt like it was needed to put all the lose ends together. Also, seeing Nico & Ellie's bonding was so heartwarming! The way she provided him comfort and helped Rafael bond with him too was so beautiful. Their trip together was the highlight of the book for me. The moments they spent with each other gave the book a humorous and light-hearted vibe in between all the angst, which I really appreciated. In addition, I was quite fond of all the side characters especially Willow & Lily and getting to see Dahlia & Julian again was ofcourse quite wonderful! Overall, I liked this book and though it had it's ups and downs, I'm glad that I picked it up. It was definitely very enjoyable and I just can't wait for Lorenzo & Lily's book next! Marriage of convenience is my top favorite trope and I can't wait to get my hands on it!!!
