As someone who deals with a good deal of chronic pain, I was having some mixed feelings about the lack of nuance in the conversations about the social/medical models of disability in this. Since I'm not very knowledgeable in disability studies, I'd figure I'd take a step back and read up some more on the topic before I continued this. I may not return to this though; based on other reviews it seems there's a strong focus on the memoir aspect, which was not what I was expecting from this book.
