Queen of Air and Darkness by Cassandra Clare

5.0

Queen of Air and Darkness delivers an emotional rollercoaster ride, picking up right after the shocking cliffhanger of Lord of Shadows. Cassandra Clare masterfully weaves together countless storylines, keeping the reader engaged despite the book's length.

The Blackthorns' grief is palpable, especially Julian's struggle to cope with Livvy's death. The appearances of beloved characters from TMI and TID series add a touch of nostalgia and excitement. The highlight for me was the development of Aline and Helen's relationship, offering long-awaited representation for LGBTQ+ fans.

While the plot is ambitious, some aspects felt rushed, particularly Julian's character arc.  This book's conclusion is odd for a trilogy ending on a cliffhanger. A very large one at that.
