Let's Pretend This Never Happened: A Mostly True Memoir by Jenny Lawson

funny lighthearted reflective fast-paced

3.0

I listened to Broken (in the Best Possible Way) by this author last year, and I remember liking it better than I did this one, but I actually went back and read my review, and everything makes so much sense! I enjoyed the sentimental and heartfelt bits, but literally said, "...apparently she gets a bit deeper and more personal in this one than in her previous books... I thought it was well done, but there were some chapters that were kind of out there or just a bit too silly that lost me." Let's Pretend This Never Happened is just ALL of the latter. Don't get me wrong, I didn't hate it. It was silly and fun and completely fine for what it was, it was just overall kind of pointless. I do still want to read Furiously Happy, but I think I'll save it for a palette cleanser after the next time a listen to something heartbreaking.
