The Green Mile by Stephen King
5.0
‘The Green Mile’ is not only my favorite Stephen King book but one of my favorite books of all time. I read it after I watched the film and both were devastating.
‘The Green Mile’ perfects the uneasiness in subtlety and understands the importance of having a strong story at the core. As subtle as the book is in everything it does, the character John Coffey is like a punch to the chest. He is the definition of a gentle giant but his story is so heartbreaking that I found myself tearing up several times throughout the novel. By the end of ‘The Green Mile,’ Stephen King will have left you with a feeling of loneliness, regret, and an outlook of the world that is filled with pain and love.
I truly wish that I could give this novel more than five stars.
