The Dangerous Art of Blending in by Angelo Surmelis

4.0

Evan has been living under the abuse from his father and his father who makes half-hearted attempts to let it fly while also trying to say he'll get her to stop. Evan has just returned from Bible camp and is back to school. He is finally getting into seeing his best friend Henery But this year Evan and Henery might be finding how close they can possibly go together that is if Evan's mom doesn't end up taking care of Evan.

This is one of those love outwins all stories. The abused learn to trust again as someone he loves shows that he can be loved. it shows the damage of abuse and the lack of trusting it can involve but also the sliver of hope that remains despite years and years of abuse,

The characters. Feel sad and scared throughout the novel for Evan and how he was going to make it by. Henery just wants to be Evan's BF. Jeremy is some jackass who if Ev couldn't;t punch I would do it for him. Evan's mom's cruelty made me angry just how Evan's dad only slightly helped with after years of abuse. Overall a good read.
