Look, the story of this book isn't terrible, it's needlessly convoluted and mysterious. I couldn't follow a lot of the scenes and a lot goes unanswered because there is clearly supposed to be a sequel. Also, I just could not tell the characters apart, which made things tough. I love that all the characters were LGBTQ+ people of color, but that didn't ultimately mean much because they so severely lacked personality.
