The Two Lost Mountains by Matthew Reilly
3.0
Jack West is still on the path to save the world from destruction or being ruled by a ruthless tyrant. However, he is always a step behind playing catch up. The cliff hanger from the previous book is resolved quickly but he is immediately in the thick of things in the middle of Red Square in Moscow where the entire city has been put to sleep.
All the usual characters are present, but not all survive this book.
There is no cliff hanger ending to this story as we know exactly what is going on and where everyone is going. It's a case of one chapter ends and the next begins, but in the next book, whenever that will be. As part of a series is OK but it feels like a linking book to join things together, not necessarily an adventure in it's own right. From the beginning we know what the ultimate goal is.
