DNF. Smutbated by the cover. Not 1 but 2 frustrating, fade to black steamy scenes. Magic and lore made so little sense that the whole book felt like one big, confusing fever dream. Like okay. If you’re not gonna make it a romance, fine, but don’t give the book this much romantic tension. Also the fantasy/mystery aspect book should make enough sense to be enjoyable. I was suffering from so many eye rolls by the 74-80% mark that I had to give up. I don’t recommend. So many other books to read in this world.
