Neanderthal Marries Human by Penny Reid
3.0
Janie absolutely adores Quinn and is quite happy but after five months of dating she's not sure if she should say yes to his proposal after all they've only known each other during the good times and they've never had a bad time with each other.
So Janie proposes something she thinks will give them all the stress they need before they're married; to have a big wedding.
Sure it's manufactured stress but she figured it would be a good test for their relationship.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
I didn't enjoy this one as much as I did the first one.
I couldn't put the first one down but this one I didn't feel that urge to continue at all.
I think in part because nothing really happened with the characters' characterization?
They're both pretty much the same(Janie still self-depreciating and uncertain and Quinn still private and feeling guilty) and the only the that really happened was the wedding prep.
I honestly wished I learned more about them but nothing new was revealed.
I think it would've been nice if there were more chapters in Quin's POV.
I was hoping that there would've been more to the small side plot with their families, it didn't feel like, to me at least, that things were resolved.
It was just kinda told to the reader that Janie/Quinn were done with the family side plot and they were moving on.
I just wanted more I guess.
I was a little startled when I got to the sex scenes because the last book was fade to black.
Also this book should be read after Book 2 of the Knitting in the City, because there's some extra info about Elizabeth's and Nico's romance that occurs in this novel so at times it felt as if I was missing something.
This is a nice fluffy read but not a lot of plot.
