The Fury by Alex Michaelides

dark mysterious tense medium-paced
  • Plot- or character-driven? A mix

It feels like Michaelides is unable to recapture that magic he had with The Silent Patient. I absolutely LOVED that first book. I was incredibly disappointed with his follow up, The Maidens. I was hoping this new book might redeem him for me, but sadly this was not the case. For all the literary references dropped by the narrator, this felt like a semi predictable mix of Glass Onion meets And Then There Were None meets Death on the Nile. That's pretty much all you need to know.
