A Kids Book About consistently puts out the best books on the market about tough and abstract topics, and this one is no exception. They handle the topics with no sugarcoating and no condescension, while still exploring the content in a safe and approachable manner. The use of basic typography and colors to convey mood and meaning work better than pictures ever could. I do think they missed the mark a little for the recommended age for this title. While I don't think 5 is too young to introduce a kid to the concept of climate change, I think this book may be a little too statistic heavy for all but the most meticulous 5-year-old. 7+ may be a better recommendation. That being said, I really appreciated that they cited all the sources for their statistics in footnotes, which inadvertently introduces kids to an important academic concept.
