A Storm of Swords by George R.R. Martin
5.0
So far, my favorite in the series. This has come to be the best series I've ever read.
After reading some of the other reviews on here, I realize maybe I'm just different than other readers. Part of the reason I love this book is because of all the people I have grown to love end up dead. Maybe I've read way too many books and seen way to many movies where characters you love get close to death a million times and never actually die. And the people that do die are people you don't love that much or people who should die.
I respect Martin for having to balls to create these in depth loveable characters and then hack them to pieces later in the story. That's life. That's more realistic than any clear cut good guys vs bad guys and good guys winning scenario. There's depth to these books.
I like that everyone has redeeming qualities and yet pretty terrible ones as well. It makes them more human than any characters I've read about before.
I love how completely unpredictable this series is. I honestly never know what is coming next and what I think will happen is completely different than what actually happens.
