I wanted to like this book; he set a high bar with The Silent Patient. I started off great. I wasn't a fan of the chopped-up chapters and parts, but they made it easier to set down (which happened a lot). The main character, Mariana, was unlikable and needy. Characters were thrown your way for no reason: good twist but a little predictable. Well written but too slow for me, and I enjoy a slow build most of the time.
