Bish and Bone by Craig Halloran

This is follow-up to a previous series, so I should probably have started there if I'd have owned it. Unfortunately, this was all I had and one has to start somewhere.

I'd say it was a quick-paced very quick read, though that's really all I enjoyed about it. I think to have been introduced to the characters before now would have been better, so it's really only those that already enjoy the series that get around to this book. I wasn't keen on any of the characters but presumably I'd missed their adventurous lives prior to this.

I never found myself really enjoying the prose and, whilst it was written well (minor typos here and there) I couldn't follow it successfully enough. There was also a lot of comic book action words like Slash! and wham! whenever some sword-action was taking place, which irritated me.

Not for me, but if you enjoy the series previously, I'm sure you'll love it.
