How to Stop Time by Matt Haig

3.0

3.5 stars

I enjoyed the story which was a slower softer story than I expected based on the premise of a man over 400 years old who is part of a secret society to hide people like him who age incredibly slowly. Even though it wasn’t the story I expected, I still liked it.

The writing was a little flat. Not in a bad way but just nothing to really grab me and get under my skin. It was straightforward with some nice lines here and there, some good insight into humanity and time and fear and loss.

The fact that a surfer set him straight on how to live and look at life bumped it up that final half star for me.
