Carter & Lovecraft by Jonathan L. Howard
5.0
As a big fan of all things Lovecraftian, I was probably a bit primed to enjoy this book no matter what. That said, I really enjoyed this book as its own thing, not just for the (super fun and cheeky) blending of Lovecraft's mythos with the real world. Dan and Emily are highly engaging characters and the blend of urban-fantasy, detective noir and existential horror is my aesthetic, 100%. I finished it in one sitting and would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys Lovecraft's works - as well as those wanting a more modern take on the mythos.
