The Printed Letter Bookshop by Katherine Reay

5.0

The Printed Letter Bookshop follows the lives of three very different women. The book begins with the funeral of Aunt Maddie who has left her beloved store to her niece Madeline.

The story is told from Madeline’s point of view, as well as Janet and Claire who work at the store and resent the fact that Madeline didn’t come to visit her Aunt in her last illness.

This is a character-rich story about friendship and finding freedom from past hurts and mistakes. I enjoyed gradually getting to know all three women, their struggles, passions and the events that had shaped them.

This is also a romance and there were some Christian elements to this book but the overall theme that stood out for me was friendship and forgiveness.
