The Ex-cavenger Hunt by Kendall Hale
4.0
please note that the trigger warnings and topes/themes may contain spoilers
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
HEA: yes
POV: dual 1st person POV
spice: a few open-door spicy scenes
TWs: emotional manipulation, toxic family dynamics
standalone: book 1 of the Happily Ever Mishaps series
final thoughts: this was a quick and fun read with lots of flirty banter between the MCs Lily and Ethan. As the black sheep of their families, they embark on a road trip adventure to visit Lilyβs ex-boyfriends to see if her future is really in her past.
I wish we had more of their interactions while on the road stuck in close quarters since there wouldβve been so many great romcom situations in those moments, but we did get plenty during their hotel stays and in between meeting the exs.
I loved that there was plenty of angst, drama, and miscommunication, but with no third act breakup! However, the ending felt super rushed for me. I didnβt dislike it, but it felt like a different set of characters in the end with a quick resolution.
