This is the first time I've been so unsure on what rating give a book. Happy Place is such a fun book about friendship and love, but there was also something about it that I disliked. Maybe it was the slower parts of the book, or the repetitive miscommunication? (Like, you've known each other for 10 years, but you can't express your feelings to each other?)
Despite this, it wasn't a bad book. It was crafted with so much love and care for its characters and their relationships. The way it was written made it feel entirely real and it warmed but also broke my heart. I walked away feeling inspired by both love and friendship. It's just a shame it took such a big chunk of the book before it got good, only to make the characters confuse each others' feelings over and over again, instead of communicating and asking questions.
