I really enjoyed Colton and Autumn's story!
Colton is an ex-hockey player who is spending time in the small town of Ashfield to try to keep his head down and out of the media. Autumn is an interior designer whose life took an unexpected turn and she has returned to Ashfield where she grew up while she tries to figure out her next steps.
Colton and Autumn originally meet by bumping into each other (literally) at a grocery store but neither knows who the other is. They soon find out though, as Colton decides to out-bid Autumn and buy a house on her family's property that Autumn has been dreaming about since she was younger. Autumn immediately has her guard up and is unsure what Colton wants to do with this house, but with a little help from her family, she soon realizes that maybe she misunderstood Colton from the beginning.
I loved this introduction to this small town. Ashfield has everything a small town needs. A tight-knit community, drama, and a little bit of gossip. Seeing Autumn with her siblings and parents was lots of fun and they definitely knew how to keep me entertained. Learning more about Colton and his past had me fully engaged. I loved knowing the thoughts and feelings of both characters throughout the story. The subplot of fixing up the house together also didn't let me down!
This steamy, small-town, age-gap romance was a quick read that was very well done. Overall, I really enjoyed the story. I do wish we got more between the couple in the end. Once the conflict was resolved, I felt like they didn't have enough time together since circumstances had them apart for a while, so I did miss seeing them together in the end but I still really enjoyed it!
I do recommend it and I cannot wait for the next in the series!
