Firstly I’d like to thank @sunnybabepr for sending me a copy of this ARC! The Closer follows Tytus, a rising baseball Yankee player, and Sarah, a talented musical theatre performer. The two characters are set up by each-others best-friends and since then, the rest is history!
This book beautifully captures how tricky relationships can be especially when you both have time consuming hobbies. I myself can relate to this heavily as I am a performer and trying to juggle personal life along with that can be difficult. The love written in this book feels so organic and real, I seriously have fallen in love with these characters. I absolutely loved Tytus Hayes Sr. and the relationship between him and Sarah. This book does cover some heavy themes and has some incredible mental health representation, especially with men, in which is written incredibly. I must admit that going into this book I had no previous knowledge of baseball but the author explains the rules so well!
This book was a perfect sports romance!
