These are such fun books. The world of magic is so fun to explore. It may be that I'm just a bit pretentious, but I say this a lot when I finish a book, I was entertained and super invested, but also found it to be cringy and predictable. The writing would sometimes be good but other times it was just basic and the dialogue was painful at times. I also didn't care about any of the characters. A great book makes you love the characters or at least have strong emotions about them, but I couldn’t care less about them, maybe a little annoyed with them at times. But again, I very much enjoyed reading it.
