I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy
4.0
McCurdy said in an interview that she never heard anyone talk about this and she was right. That’s why this book is such a phenomenon. She pour open her heart and writes about everything that’s so taboo and unspoken. Emotions and thoughts that might pass by everyone’s head at some point but we are too afraid to face the truth and acknowledge, and she writes with such tangible honesty and rawness.. literally exposing her deepest feelings and the results are brilliant.
I highly recommend this memoir, and I’m so glad for her and everything she overcame to find her writing voice.. her true calling, despite or because of everything she went through.
I also recommend the audiobook, because it’s a transcending experience to hear the author tell her story, but also because at some part her voice breaks and your heart would break with it.
