Babel, or The Necessity of Violence: An Arcane History of the Oxford Translators' Revolution by R.F. Kuang
3.0
had such high hopes :(
the writing and world building was fantastic and truly commendable but after reading/listening to this (very!) long book, I wish the author had committed more to the fantasy aspect. The story was so rooted in history and facts that the light sprinkling of fantasy felt too jarring.
