Bloodlines by Richelle Mead
5.0
If you read the first book of the Vampire Academy series and this book in short period of time after each other, you can really notice how much Richelle Mead improved her writing. It is just so amazing.
This might actually be one of the best character driven books I've ever read. Yeah, sure, there weren't many major plot points, but all those people in here made up for that tremendously. It was also very nice seeing all the old characters again. Never felt so nostalgic before. And really, when Rose came into the room all those good old feelings came rushing back.

I must admit that in VA I didn't really care about Sydney all that much, but here she soon became the most amazing character of this series and one of the best ones of Richelle Mead's creation. And same goes for Jill.
If I return to Sydney for a second I must just say that her backstory was amazing especially her relation to Abe (whom I btw adore so much because he's such a bastard).
I always knew that Dimitri was the right one for Rose and hoped that Adrian would find his happiness elsewhere, but seeing him after her was just so painful and heart-breaking. I was actually really curious how he would look like AFTER and this was everything I expected and even more. The writing just made it all so much more real.
The only thing that bugged me was that after finishing six Richelle Mead's books it was all just very predictable. I knew what to expect and not much has changed about that. Come on! Just tell me who wouldn't notice it with all those clues! The tattoos! The bond! The only thing I didn't completely expect was the strigoi, but throughout the whole thing I couldn't shake this feeling there was something fishy about that person.
Before I end this review let me just say that the ending blew my mind and made me want to start the second book ASAP. I'm just so curious how will Adrian handle all this crap and… there's of course the second thing…

You know what I'm talking about. We can all pretend it's not there or just be straight about it and openly love it till the end of our days (or at least the end of Bloodlines).
PS: The narrator of the audiobook was just amazing. I'm so glad it's the same on as in the VA, because I got so used to her making Adrian's voice in that amazing British accent that I couldn't ever imagine him any differently.
