This was a real quick read and I had a lot of fun listening to it. The story starts with Gwen finding Kellan hiding out from a mob in her blacksmith shop, apparently his father had been pretending to be the Duke until the real Duke came back to town so he hightailed it out of there leaving his son to face the townspeople’s wrath. And they are mad. He’s literally on the verge of being hanged when Gwen announces to everyone that they can’t kill him because she’s in love with him and he instantly buys into her act to sell their love. Is that enough to saving him from hanging? Well apparently so, although there are stipulations…they must marry.
From what it says in the synopsis I thought we were going to get to see the year (to which they agreed upon) of marriage but we see leading up to it and then in the epilogue it’s a year later. I would have loved seeing them being married and falling for each other, if that had happened it may have be 5 stars.
