Well…. 🧍🏾♀️…that was definitely a story. Can’t say it was a good one, but it was definitely something.
It’s giving 2014 Wattpad. Battle hardened solder with PTSD (is the ptsd in the room with us? 🤔 cuz I’ve seen no evidence) and a feisty leading lady (was approximately feisty for .5 seconds). Neither of them had real personalities or reasons as to why they would fall head over heels for each other in a single week. The premise of why the main girl had a hit on her was laughable. The mafia members and the soldiers were the cheesiest I’ve ever read. I cackled over the leading man thinking ‘take a dirt nap, cowboy’. The appearance of other characters to come in an conveniently save the day was disappointing. Like the author really couldn’t figure out a clever way for the main characters to save themselves? Also, I dunno who told me this was a dark romance but 2 short vanilla sex scenes with an unbelievably tame plot does not a dark romance make. I honestly don’t know how I didn’t DNF this.
