This book is beautifully crafted. The illustrations are lively and gorgeous (though the non-sequential repetition of characters across double-page spreads can be a bit hard to follow at times). The text is lyrical and poetic. Personally, I feel that the story itself can be read as a metaphor for the alienation that neurodivergent people of all ages sometimes feel (only to often discover that the people around them are neurodivergent, too).
