Just This Once by Lena Hendrix

5.0

“Just This Once” by Lena Hendrix is another series set in a small town named Outtatowner, but it focuses on the Kings, not the Sullivans.

This book tells the tale of Whip King, a firefighter, and Emily Ward, the new girl in town who also happens to be his boss’ daughter.

Whip and Emily didn’t know anything about each other the first night they met and gave in to their attraction, but even once they found out, they couldn’t manage to stay away from each other.

I thought Whip was a complex character with a lot of layers, and I ended up loving him and his personality a lot more than I thought I would! I loved how obsessed he was with Emily as well.

And Emily! She was sweet and kindhearted as well as funny and sassy. I truly believe she cared about her students, and that she really wanted to fit in with the townspeople despite having just moved there.

I loved Emily and Whip’s chemistry and the way their relationship developed over the course of the novel. I would highly recommend both “Just This Once” or literally anything written by Lena Hendrix if you love small town romance!
