I don’t know what was up with the entire chapters in italics. There was no reason for those to be treated as “flashbacks”. The Brenda thing was stupid and annoying, and still a bit of a loose end. They kept skipping scenes I wanted to read (such as the wedding night, hello?) and instead went on with things they could have cut with no loss to the story. Too many characters I didn’t know or care for.

I just wasn’t a big fan of this, I guess. In short:

Good things:
- Ace and Dylan were still so so sweet together. (That’s why I read all three books.)
- I like that they wanted to adopt a child they could save in the way Dylan was saved from his past.
- The book cover is gorgeous.

Less good things:
- Pretty much the rest of it.
