Midnight Fae Academy: Book Two by Lexi C. Foss
a lot of secrets and miscommunication. their love is so rushed that the whole “trust me” thing just doesn’t work. hey she seems to be on board. the romance is the weakest part of this. the guy keep saying she can hold her own and is powerful and she is. however she’s so powerful it renders her useless. she can’t throw a punch without a guy catching her wrist or waist. it’s annoying! i know it’s popular in romance to use a guy being physically bigger to create dom sub thing that i am just not into. at some point she gets trained to do physical fighting and one of the mmcs tells her she’s improved a lot but we never see it. he said that right after he tackled her to the ground. the author is trying to tell us she’s strong but never shows it. i’m just sitting here feeling like i’m being lied to.
the plot outside the romance is interesting but if we cut the mediocre romance with its repetitiveness of secrets and mistrust this could have been a duology.
i’ll cont and hope things come out in the open. i think then the series will become more fun and less exhausting.
