Postcolonial Love Poem by Natalie Díaz

4.0

Lovely poems, with so much water imagery among the Indigenous stories told through verse.

But these are simply human stories, really: heritage, desire, sex, and more play into the difficult beauty of these pieces.

Thankful for this read, inclusive of the random-yet-not, Beyonce-meets–Yeah Yeah Yeahs poem. (That's a singular line that does a lot for me.) There's a lot of feeling in these poems, and I learned a lot as well. Couldn't ask for much more.
