The Other People by C.J. Tudor
4.0
I received this book as part of the Abominable Book Club.
I didn’t know I was such a sucker for a good mystery; I read this book in two days, eschewing my normal screen time for finding out “what happens next”
Overall I think the plot was constructed brilliantly with plenty of twists and turns. The characters acted authentically (or as authentically as one can in a situation such as in this novel) and I felt invested throughout.
The one qualm I have is that part of the ending felt very uneven or maybe unearned. For a straightforward mystery, do we really need hints at the supernatural? It felt out of place or underutilized.
This book is for fans of mysteries who like good twists and turns.
This book is not for… those who want a straight procedural mystery without a deus ex machina to tie things up.
