This book was absolutely everything, and it’s one I’ll remember as one of my top favorite dark romances of Pepper’s!

I absolutely adore both protagonists. Gemma is empathetic, kind and strong - she has so many qualities that I love to see in heroines. And Kass - wow. Kass is one of the most tortured, complex anti-heroes I’ve ever read in dark romance, and my heart breaks for him. I also lovingly called him a “caveman” as I was reading. One of the things he does in this book made my jaw drop and also made me chuckle. I probably should have been pissed off, but I never claimed to be normal, and I think a lot of dark romance readers will find this oddly humorous/endearing instead of raising their red flags 🚩 in alarm 😂. Gemma’s reactions to Kass’s actions just made me love her more as I read the story. She’s one of my new favorite FMC’s written by Pepper!

This book was written so incredibly well, and is significantly darker than book 1 in the trilogy. Pepper, I am in awe of your talents once again. I am obsessed with this book!
