I really wanted to like this book but I suffered from boredom for most of it. The very end things got interesting but everything felt really slow for most of it. It kind of felt like one of those telling but not showing books. We heard so much about how Amarande is a warrior, she was trained to fight…I expected to see more of that. I wanted a badass Princess who was going to kick ass and take names to track down the boy she loved. Meanwhile all Luca ever did was say how his princess would find her, it got old hearing it over and over again. Also I didn’t really buy their love story, I just didn’t see anything there, maybe if they’d had more time together before he was taken.
I’m still trying to decided if I want to read the next one or not because as I said the last couple chapters did intrigue me and I’m kind of hoping book 2 won’t suffer as much as book 1 did setting things up.
