I don’t think I’ll ever stop recommending this series; it’s kinky, and it’s romantic, and it explores some really important topics including mental health, gender identity, and sexuality. I’ve loved every instalment and Praise has held the top spot since day one, but Mercy is a strong contender for first place after I stayed up until 3am to finish it in one sitting.
Maggie and Beau are just perfect for each other, and the tension is practically palpable - I think my heart nearly stopped on multiple occasions while reading. What makes their story really special to me is their shared journey of discovery, and the character development we see from Beau compared to book one is beautiful. There’s something about being able to love a character you used to hate that makes it so much more delicious.
Of course, it wouldn’t be the Salacious Players Club without a whole load of salacious activities, and Mercy definitely doesn’t let us down, the dynamic in Mercy is DIVINE. A domme/sub, age-gap, friend’s-son-is-a-brat romance, full of kink and an interesting storyline on top? Sara Cate knew what she was doing when she wrote this, and I hope that we get to see more from the Club one day.
As always, please check TWs before reading, this is taboo romance and Mercy does explore some difficult topics.
