happily surprised by this collection of short stories! i picked this up on a total whim (was looking for a different book with the same title) and I'm very glad I did. there are some truly stunning stories in this collection ('The Changeling', 'Fiddler, Fool Pair', 'Take What Only Belongs To You') and one that make me so anxious and on-edge the entire time I read it ('Fruiting Bodies') that I can't give these stories any less than 5 stars. there is a deep understanding of the lesbian experience in these pages that really touched me and surprised me in turn. 'Take What Only Belongs To You' spoke to a very specific experience of relationships built with authors that I've never seen put to page and I really appreciated it seeing it spelled out so nicely. I'm going to have to go out and buy a physical copy to keep for myself so I can return to these stories whenever I choose.
