In the Prince's Bed by Sabrina Jeffries

3.0

I really hate the titles in this series. Besides the fact that not one of the men is a prince, it makes it hard to remember which book is which.

But, the book makes up for it :)

This is a well done normal romance novel. There's a virgin heiress, seductions, lies, misunderstandings, an effeminate fiance, bastards, a will with manipulative clauses, and many more cliches. There's a lot of fresh things too, though. The Rakehell's Rhetorick is a cute idea that was incorporated well. Both times Alec showed off his trick riding were great scenes.

Alec's mercenary behavior was a little too cold, since he didn't let go of it for quite a while. Katherine's paranoia and trust issues (even with good reasons) did lead to some trying scenes. But, the ending gave growth and realizations that fully satisfied my qualms. The epilogue was really sweet and not overly sappy. A rare find in a romance.
