Honestly, I personally found the book to be rather boring. Part of it was just Hawthorne's writing style, which maybe was good for the time, but for me it just made it a slog to read. As for the story, from the parts I could interpret between the writing, I couldn't find myself enjoying. It also didn't help that I had to read it for school, so I couldn't just drop it.
