Reread February 2022, rating upgraded to 5 stars

I love these books so much!  Will and Kim are just the best (even though Kim is a lying liar who lies).
I absolutely love how well KJC blends romance with everything else happening in this book; kidnapping, murder, shady secret societies, shady government folks, the economic realities of post-WWI England.
I think this will be a series I revisit often.

Oh my goodness, I enjoyed this!
There was mystery, politics, romance; just perfect.
I absolutely adored the two MCs, Will Darling and Kim Secretan, I loved all the books, it was just a really great story. 
My favourite quote:
“And he owned a lot of books, although just now and then, when it got dark and the shelves loomed over him, he got the feeling that they owned him”. Same, Will Darling, same.
This is only the second KJC book I’ve read, but I will be starting on the next in this series immediately and will probably be reading a lot more of her books in the future.
