I really enjoyed this unusual twist on the "new girl in town" romance. Nessa is a retired nurse in her mid-50s who buys her dream cottage in a small Welsh town. Her new neighbour, George, is a few years older but very grumpy and reclusive - is he hiding something more?
Her gentle persistence in being friendly starts to win him over, and they both find themselves falling in love - then of course we have the obligatory misunderstanding, but all's well that ends well.
Not sure if this book forms part of a series, but it feels like it should be - there were other storylines (the farmers hoping to open a farm shop) that felt like they should have been explored more - fairly sure George would have plenty of goodies available that could have got them going!
Likeable (if slightly stereotypical middle aged) characters, a town I'd love to visit! These kinds of books never set the world on fire but are a fun read on a sunny beach or by a warm fireplace.
