He does an expert job in explaining how the Bureau has arrived at its current incarnation from its beginnings under J. Edgar Hoover through its transformation after 9/11 and its current conundrum of navigating a Federal government and citizenry that seems to prefer the FBI be less-than-non-partisan.

Mr. McCabe's explanations of HIG and the success of adhering to the Geneva Conventions is also worth the read if nothing else.

If you are looking for a tell-all involving hush-money, sex, and conspiracies you will be sorely disappointed. If you are looking for a chance to better understand the FBI, Mr. McCabe, and the time period after the 2016 election then you will find plenty to learn and understand and marvel at.

Thank you for your years of service, Mr. McCabe!
