The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins
5.0
Finally!! Been waiting for this one for a while, and, as always, Collins amazes me. I was hesitant like many others to follow Snow, but it actually ended up being really interesting. Lucy Gray is the polar opposite of Katniss in terms of character, personality, and composition, while at the same time being an interesting take on a slow-boiling revolution waiting to happen. Love her quote "it isn't over until the mockingjay sings." It's interesting to get insight into Snow as an 18 y/o and how the reader can still see his arrogant demeanor and how he always jumps to perfect his reputation. It's a great addition to one of my favorite series, and serves to further complicate an already multi-faceted villain. Collins, you've done it again!
