This wasn't on my radar at all until recently when I heard it was going to be a tv show, so I decided to give it a read. And I do think it'll be very entertaining as a series. As a book it was okay.

It started off slow and the constant time jumps could get confusing (probably less if you're reading vs listening to it), I kept wondering when we'd get to the body being found, then when we'd go back to the cops PoV so I could learn more about it, those parts were the most compelling to me.

There were several twists throughout, and I oddly didn't guess one of the bigger ones until the reveal. I mean, I can't guess everything, obviously, but when I give a thriller this rating I probably predicted the majority of it. It's a good thing I couldn't guess it. The ending though I did kinda guess. Like, I was suspecting it went down that way, just wasn't 100% sure.

The audiobook was good, and I even liked the characters to a degree, I just wish it moved a bit faster. The covid setting was sure...something. I don't know how I feel about it, it's bringing back memories and not necessarily nice ones. Do I regret reading it though? Nah. I hope they don't do all the time jumps in the TV show, or at least not like this.
