Is anyone surprised that I’m rating this book 5 stars? I’m not. It’s everything I hoped for and expected. HOFAS is more clear than the previous book in the series in terms of plots and characters. There’s still a lot of jumping around between different POVs but I felt that each character had a storyline that I was invested in. We get a mix of likable characters and villains and I felt like the action was paced really well. I was invested in every page of this book.
I think this book juggled the world Maas has created really well and I actually was really happy with how this book ended. It felt like the end of an era, but the door is still cracked open for the characters and novellas. And the ending didn’t feel cheesy in the way that I feel like other books of Maas’ have ended. HOFAS may have jumped up to one of my favorite books that has come from Sarah Maas’ creative mind.
