This is a powerful memoir and quite heavy as well. It's a story that gets heavier as it unfolds so it's hard to wade through at times. I enjoyed the way his story is written as if he's talking to his mother in the second person. I also love the way the meaning of heavy encompasses so much of the symbolism, imagery, metaphors, theme, and characters.
